Blog Post idea

What is poetry?
Poetry is a literary pattern in which words are rhymed vocally or matched in significance, meaning that it can be versed and uniform or can have no rhyming pattern at all, but may have a consistent trait that links it to other poems ?(a haiku, for example).

Which do you prefer? Catullus or Horace? Why?
I prefer Catullus, because his style of poetry is more simplistic to me and is better understood in modern context, mainly because his stories can be interpreted more vaguely. His poetry often tells a simple story from a common person, and therefore is easier to relate to.

Do you think poetry should be given more or less attention in high school? Why?
I believe poetry should be given more attention to, because poetry is an important literary aspect for human art and spans past to ancient times. Poetry says alot about who we were and who we are, and is a good instrument in examining culture.
