Vomitoriums were passages behind seats at an amphitheater where audience members would be able to go to throw up if the show took a turn for the worst. They were also commonly used by very snobby rich people, who would gorge themselves on food and then thrown it up so that they could eat even more. The vomit was reported to be used in tannery pits to remove fat and muscle from animal skins. Just saying.
