Roman Tickle Torture...?

The most well known torture method at the time of the Romans was crucifixion, for obvious reasons. However, another less known method of torture that people at the time of Ancient Rome faced was a sort of "tickle torture." This was actually effective in most cases, as after a period of time tickling becomes unbearable. In many cases, Romans would dip the tortured person's feet in salt or a sweet substance and have a goat lick it off. This, I can imagine, would really tickle. Seems like an alternative ending to the "Life of Brian" to me.
